NEW SINGLE! - ChoicesFor the first time in 21 years, Hogle Lab has released a brand new song. I'd like to say that this is leading up to the release of a full-length album, but I can't promise anything will be ready in the near-future. For now, enjoy this long-awaited follow-up to 2003's Tyme! 4 July, 2023 - Enemy 20th Anniversary Edition releaseGood grief. Back again. What 35-year-old me did not know was there was a global pandemic approaching, which provided an opportunity to tap into that desire to be as productive as I had been in 2003. Well, good news, since October 2021 I've been far more productive than I ever was in 2003. I've re-released all the nosneb albums, produced a new one, produced several albums with my son, and contributed synth work to my friend's project. The nosneb releases were meant to commemorate the release of Stabbed in the Back in 2003. Now, however, I've got something even better. For the first time in 20 year, I'm making available the Enemy single/EP. In addition to the original track list, I'm including a version of "Enemy" that I've never officially released except to post temporarily on SoundCloud. It was important to me to take some time to reflect on these important milestones from my past, and it feels good that I listen to these and think how far I've come since then, and don't wish I could go back to those days anymore. I hope anyone still checking here will head on over to Bandcamp and enjoy a veritable renaissance of Hogle Lab and nosneb. For what it is worth, nosneb is completed, and I won't release any more albums under that name. I don't want to say that Hogle Lab is finished just yet, but I can see that whatever comes next will be named something new. Happy 20th Birthday Hogle LabTaking a moment to pause and reflect on the fact that I started Hogle Lab 20 years ago today. I haven't been very active in the last decade since my last update. I dabble from time to time on some jams, but nothing will ever compare to those first four years when I was young and could stay up too late dreaming up new ideas and working on songs. Now I stay up too late reflecting on nights that have long past. Good times though. If you are looking for anything new from me, head on over to my SoundCloud page. From time to time I've been known to upload a new track or two. Before long I'm sure the itch to produce something new will hit me. I'll never be gone forever until I'm dead, and then you'll have everything I've left behind. Signing off on this page now, which I'm hoping to just leave here until the site eventually dies like Tripod, Geocities, and the rest. See you on the Wayback Machine :) nosneb on Last.fm and MyspaceIn the last three years, I have put together a number of tracks which comprise an album called "Love and Reason." It is available for free download on the nosneb last.fm profile. Additionally, I am working on a follow-up album called "Somewhere Between Sound and Silence." A demo of the song 'Keep it Inside,' the first nosneb track to feature vocals, is available on the nosneb MySpace page. This will be the last transmission from this site. In the future, refer to the aforementioned links.Back AgainI need to make a Hogle Lab MYSPACE or something..At some point this evening I started listning to my past work that I haven't really listened to in at least six or seven months. For the most part, I had given up working on Hogle Lab because I really didn't think I was ever going to acheive the sound I was looking for. Well, maybe I was wrong. With the help of Reason and some formal training I have been able to put together some really nice ideas that I would like to share with anyone still out there. I have long dreamed of putting together another full-length album and getting it on a label or something. I am much better connected to the labels these days that something like that seems possible if I put forth the right amount of effort. A few years ago I became somewhat of a perfectionist and none of my music was ever good enough. What I had already put out was on the verge of being erased. If MP3.com hadn't gone under I might have pulled back on all my work. Regardless... the time has come for me to do something else... stay tuned. ----It has been well over a year now since I have started a song that didn't get deleted before the session was over. It is safe to say now that I am not working on any projects currently, though I have many ideas for projects I would like to start. Unfortunely, however, I just don't have the resources to produce the kind of sound I am looking for. It is a bit sad that I have not been able to be as prodigious as I was back in 2003, but perhaps in time I will get over this block and be able to kick out some very decent jams.[OLD NEWS] I'm trying to develop a sound. I don't want to say that I am selling out and writing music that people want to hear, but I want to know what people want to hear, and see if I can exercise complete artistic freedom but still create something that many people would choose to listen to. I am currently putting together a list of the top albums of 2004. It will be available soon. I think it is safe to say that there is a new Hogle Lab in the works. Preproduction for new material began last week and currently new ideas are being explored. Material that was written between September 2003 to present is currently being reviewed. Hopefully some of the "Status Zero/Autumn Fears" work will be completed and appear with some new material in 2005. There is no title for the new album as of yet. Currently, there is no single planned. All work is being done by Josh Benson for this release. |
